Week 37

22 days to go! Baby Huth is now considered “full term,” but hopefully he stays in for at least a couple more weeks. He weighs around 6 ½  pounds, still packing on about a ½ pound a week and measures a bit over 19 inches from head to heel. Baby is busy inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid (to get the lungs ready for that first breath), sucking his thumb, blinking, and turning from side to side. He can hear and recognize our voices by now. Along with his hearing, his eyesight is improving each day and his fingers are also becoming more coordinated so he can grasp his face and toes.

As for me, I have been out of work since my Tuesday afternoon doctor’s appointment. I had high blood pressure so they sent me to labor and delivery to monitor me. Everything looked good except my blood pressure still ran a little high so they put me on bed rest the rest of the week. They checked me for preeclampsia, but the test came back negative…thank god! I have my 37 week appointment Monday, so we will see what happens then.

  1. Enjoy your bedrest now because things are about to change. You may no longer get all the rest you wish for but you will have a special little one in your life to enjoy. What a blessing!
